Check out this video of this white dude singing “And I’m Telling You I’m Not Going.” Homeboy can blow! I think Jennifer Holiday would be proud.
This is what he had to say on his youtube page

Guess What I got?...
...A relaxer!! Yay for me! After 4 and a half months...I finally broke down and got one. Try to limit them to 3 times a year because my hair is so fragile. I'd like to thank my wonderful stylist Lizzie and shampoo-ist Kim, if it wasn't for you, I don't know where I'd be. To my CHI, love ya, for holding me down in the home stretch...LOL!
Nothing like a good relaxer in your life...
So who watched Keyshia Cole and DMX's shows last night on BET??? I did and I tell you one thing...DMX if fighting some serious demons. How'd they find his ass in the 7-11...scrambling eggs in the microwave? He did not want to go to jail. It was like watching a train wreck, you don't want to look but you can't turn away...LOL @ the lil' white girls on the horses, called his ass Ja Rule! LMAO...it was sad hearing him talk about leaving...hate to see a grown man cry!
Keyshia Cole: The Way It Is - it seems to be a good show, I liked it. I like her story. She clearly had a rough life and so it's cool to see her journey out of it. I love how she cares for her nieces, they just lit up when they saw her. Did you catch the Robin Thicke comeo...sexy ass. Anyway, I'm hooked..reality-TV-aholic, that's me.
Update on Robin Thicke:
"Hey Everyone, just wanted to keep everyone in the loop as to whats going on. Were going to move the album to September. Heres why There will be two to three more videos released before the album comes out. We just shot a Busta Rhymes remix video for Wanna Love You Girl (that well premiere here next week), a Lil Wayne feat Robin Thicke Shooter video, and were in the process of doing one for Lost Without You. Those three videos will lead us right into a Mid-September release. We like to keep everyone updated with the latest information. Please take a look at the news section for the handful of tour dates in the next couple of weeks. As always thank you for your support and patience on this journey."
I am listening to Crazy Love by Brian McKnight and it is bringing me back to 8th Grade, Ronald McNair Intermiediate School, Computer Lab, we'd just set up computers donated by our adopted sponsor NASA (hence the name) and the internet! Back then it was soooo slow but it seemed like the speed of light and we had the first browser, Mosaic. We logged on and the first website we found was VIBE.com and it played music and this song and Brandy's first song were on there...we thought it was the greatest thing since indoor plumbing...LOL..no wonder I am so addicted to the internet...Thank you NASA!
Quote of the Day:
"I sprinkle diamonds on everything I eat..It make my dookie sparkle, man!"...Dave Chapelle
Here is Ludacris and his daughter, Karma, looking so family-like...warms my heart to see a Black man being a father!

Essence of Life!
Music....the Essence of Life
I always say that my father must have foreseen my love for music when he named me Melody. The soundtrack to my life is a mix of eclectic genres...
Hip Hop, R&B, Gospel, Pop, Country, Trip Hop, Old School, Neo Soul, Blues, Jazz, Broadway....Almost any music genreI can listen to, identify with....on some level.
What is it about a song that brings you to a place in your life? I love how Gospel music enlightens me, comforts me in times of pain or stress, and gives me strength in dark hours.
I can hear Dangerously in Love by Beyonce and I cry because she expresses how I feel through her voice...I get a tingle in my nose when I hear songs like that, when I connect emotionally to it, like Stand Up by Jennifer Hudson.
Music is so expressive! Sometimes I just want to hear some 80's Dance music...a little Lisa Lisa & the Cult Jam or some country with the Dixie Chicks...Prince, Whitney, Patti, Justin, Stevie, Temptations, Music Music Music...the Essence of Life!
I love movies about music and musicians...The Five Heartbeats, The Temptations, Lady Sings the Blues, Introducing Dorothy DandridgeWhat's Love Got to do With It, Why Do Fools Fall in Love, Ray, Walk the Line...if it is about music...I'm on it! Not to mention DREAMGIRLS!!! Coming this Christmas...
Top 5 Songs of the Moment:
SexyBack - Justin Timberlake
Deja Vu - Beyonce' (Just caught the video, which I think is HOT! Filmed in New Orleans...I like it, it's different, especially the end dance sequence)
Seated at the Right Hand of God - Tye Tribbett & G.A.
Maneater - Nelly Furtado ft. Lil Wayne
Butterfly - Corinne Bailey Rae
In Other News:

Flavor of Love is BACK!!...the new season along with the new season of Celebrity Fit Club, are set to air next month on VH1's CelebReality...I hope that Miss NY makes a visit...drama shall ensue and I can't wait to see it all!!
Here's Danity Kane on the set of their first video for Showstoppers...As I predicited (I'm so smart...and it was so predictable) Yung Joc is on the single version...I suspect he's in the video as well...so that should be out soon on MTV and BET...

Curveball!
So here's part deux of the life reflection blog:
Life has a funny habit of throwing shit at you when you least expect it and so just as you decide that moving forward isn't so terrible and you attempt to just go with where ever it leads...BING! CURVEBALL! New shit...like try this on for size!
I hate unnecessary shit. If I am going to end up back at point A, why must I go through point B and C, just to end up back at where I started. I know that sometimes the journey is more important than the end destination but hell, why must shit be do difficult. I have my issues with change...it's a control issue more than anything, but we know this and we accept it!
What if? That is one fucked up question. A thorn in my damn side, really. I hate to over-analyze things, I get paid to do that shit all day at work. And I may be doing just that! I tend to worry more about whats going to happen in the end than what is going to happen on the way to the end. I'm a big picture type person...always concerned about the end product.
Well, this should be one hell of a journey...whether the that or the end destination is more interesting, I don't know but I'll keep you posted!
Random Confession of Today: I'm Baldheaded...check the video!
Random Thought: Texting...great invention, very discreet, can be helpful in many situations, i.e. Katrina and Rita, calls wouldn't go through but texts would. But don't you sometimes wonder about how the texts is written? Kind of like emails, you don't always know how the message should be taken? Just wondering...

Deep Thought...
Life hands you something when you least expect it! It's so shocking that you can't even fight it...you just move along with the currant. It feels natural yet you are a bit scared, because it's so unanticipated. Most things come when you are not looking for them. Is it a good thing or a bad thing? Trying not to over analyze...hard to do when you spend your days as an analyst! Not wanting to pull away and miss my blessing but it's hard to leave something that is familiar for something foreign.
Love, Lust, Like...undistinguishable at times but they are so far removed from each other and if not clearly identified it can cause more pain than pleasure.
Today's (Random and Unrelated) Confession: I may have an unnatural affection for CHEESE...I love cheese. I eat it on a lot of things, but I have a habit of snacking on it by itself...my favorite is Kraft's Colby Craker Cuts.
*stop looking at me funny*
I am so upset that I missed my love Jamie Foxx at Essence this year...thanks Dad! All his fault but I can't yell at him because he's my dad...

Tired
Why am I so tired...almost like clock work, at about 1 pm I am ready to go to bed. All this week I have been dragging after lunch. I don't eat a whole lot (you I'm still dieting). Today I know what it is...the HEAT! Who the hell turned the heat up to AFRICA! I ran errands today and didn't even grab food, though my ass went to Sam's and WalMart (smart move Mel) but I was rushing to get back to work.
I was supposed to have lunch at PF Changs, but had to divert those plans...I was looking forward to the Crab Won Tons too! Oh well, guess I get them next week.
Well I am headed to Houston tomorrow! And as strange as this is...not for Essence! Just visiting my long-lost-now-found cousin. But we may hit a party or two. Who knows! I am up for anything, just need to get the hell out of Baton Rouge. This place can be suffocating at times.
Well I am running home from work now... YAY!!!
